1.) Why does Harriet refuse to play the piano or recite her poems?
Harriet refuses to play the piano or to recite her poems because might fell embarrassed or maybe she doesn't fell conferrable when the people are putting pressure on her.
".... Kator nodded, mouthing 'Shy,' and turned to look proudly at Howard." PG.154
2.) Even before she is asked to, why does Harriet decide she won’t play the piano?
Harriet decides she wont play the piano even before she was asked because she already knows that her grandmother and Howard's mom is going to lie and brag.
"if they ask me to play the piano for them now, I'll say no." PG.154
3.) Why is Harriet worried that Howard will tell “all the kids on the block” about her poems? (p. 155)
Harriet is worried that Howard will tell "all the kids on the block”(PG.155) about her poems because she fells when Howard tells the kids they are going to make fun of them.

Harriet insits she copied the poem out of the book she fells that she was getting presured and was geting make fun of by Howard.

I think she is ignoring her feelings. I say ignoring her feelings because when the lady is there to watch and listen to Harriet she want's to act nice and kind.

When Harriet doesn't want to play the piano her grandmother insits that she can recite her poems because she doen't want to look bad for the lady that is watching and hearing Harriet play the piano.
