AUTHOR'S PURPOSE: Why did the author include this chapter? (Entertain, persuade, inform?)
In this chapter What We Thought About How We Thought is about Phineas got Famous by a freak show and how he is getting a lot better. When he got better he went to see his family. I think the author put this part in the chapter is because he wants the reader to know how after being in the "death" bed he got better and how he decided to go see his family. While he went to see his family he started getting sick. He got a tin of seizures. He also got epilepsy. Before he went to see his family, he got advice from the doctors that he should get rest. Mr. Gage didn't do that, instead he wanted to work. I think that the author out this part in the chapter is because he wanted the reader to know how hard life was to him. Also to know that Mr. Gage wasn't getting any better. In 1860 Phineas Gage was murdered at his sister's house.
