Describe the main problem that Panchito, the main character of “The Circuit,” faced.
The main problem that Panchito faced was that his family had to moved to Fresno but he didn't want to. When they got to Fresno they found a house that a man named Mr. Sullivan lender them. The next day his dad, brother and him had to work. When they where working the dad saw the school bus. Him and his brother hid in the vineyards. They didn't want to get I trouble. They next day Panchito weren't to inroll Ito 6th grade. When he got there he was nervous. But his six grade teacher helped him. He liked his teacher. His teacher was teaching him the trumpet and English. The time when he got home, Panchito saw his stuff where in cardboard boxes.
"We have work! Mr. Sullivan said we can stay there the whole season…" (p.26)
Compare how Panchito from “The Circuit” felt when he entered school to the time he had to leave.
When Panchito went to school he was nervous he didn't know any one. When he got to his class his teacher helped him out. When he had trouble with English his teacher helped him. At lunch his teacher was teaching him the trumpet. When school was over he was excited to tell his parents. But when he got home he saw that all of his stuff was packed in cardboard boxes.
"I saw that everything we owned was neatly packed in cardboard boxes." (P.31)
A circuit means to travel from place to place and stopping at each place at a certain time. Why do you think the author titled the story, “The Circuit”?
I think the author called this story "The Circuit" because Panchito and his family has to move to another place and stop and move again.
"The thought of having to move to Fresno and knowing what was I the store for me there brought tears to my eyes." (p.24)
